Board Members
The Team MMS Officers and Directors are a group of passionate endurance athletes who volunteer their time to help develop the sport of triathlon in the River Region area. They will help ensure that every members receive the most of their membership and work hard by maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.These are the founding members for Team MMS.

Cason Garner is a husband and father of four children. He began competing in triathlons in 2010. He has raced in several half marathons and is currently training for a full marathon. In 2012, he plans to compete in the Augusta Half Ironman and immediately start training for Ironman Florida. He enjoys running with his wife and jumps at every opportunity to encourage somebody to get out and swim, bike and/or run.
Chad Boak is a 27 year old husband and father of two who began his fitness journey in 2008 before the birth of his first daughter. At that time he weighed 320 lbs and was morbidly obese. When he and his wife Christy decided to have children, he knew he had to get in shape for his family. Chad dropped 165 lbs over the course of 10 months through diet and exercise and by that point he was hooked. Chad finished his first marathon in January of 2011 with a time of 3:56:18 and is currently training for an ultra-marathon in January of 2012 and will compete in the Augusta Half Ironman Triathlon in September of 2012.
John Barganier has been married to his wife, Ashley for 18 years and they have 3 children. John has been a runner since he was a teenager and has completed 8 marathons. In 2011 he purchased a bike and became interested in triathlons and completed a half Ironman, an Olympic distance and 2 sprint distance triathlons. His goals for 2012 include an ultra-marathon, qualifying for the Boston Marathon and completing a full Ironman Triathlon.
Sara Allen is a 21 year old nursing student at Auburn Montgomery who began competing in triathlons in 2010. She has raced in three sprint triathlons, a duathlon, and the 2011 Augusta Half-Ironman. She is currently training for a marathon in January 2012 and is planning on completing a few more half Ironman races before training for the 2013 Florida Ironman.
Jay Aughtman is a trial attorney and father of two children. He triathlon trains 6 days-a-week with TEAM MMS and has competed in sprints, duathlons, 5k’s, 10k’s and a half-marathon. His goal for 2012 is to decrease his race times in several sprint and Olympic distance tris in AL and on the gulf coast. His proudest moment in the 2011 race season was watching his 9 year old son take first place in the Baptist Health Kid’s Triathlon. Jay is also a founding member of Team St. James which consists of triathletes, cyclists, runners and swimmers who are members of St. James United Methodist Church.
Meagan Cutler is stay-at-home mother of two who picked up triathlon 3 years ago after training for her first 5K. Since that time, the 29 year old has competed and placed in a number of sprint tri's, finished a 70.3 Tri, and a marathon. She is currently training for 2 marathons in the early months of 2012 and will be working towards her goal of Ironman in 2013.
Bradley Pemberton is a father of 3 and is new to the sport of endurance racing. He competed in his first sprint distance triathlon in 2010 at the age of 37. In 2011, he completed a number of sprints and also his first olympic distance event at the Rocketman on Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. In 2012, he plans on participating in a several different distance events and culminating the year off with his first 70.3 in Augusta.
Roxy Wishum is a 58 year old grandfather of four that began competing in sprint tris 5 years ago. Roxy has completed one marathon and one century ride as well as several adventure races. He completed his first Half Ironman in Augusta, Ga. in 2011 and has registered for the Florida Ironman in November 2012.
